The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says that only 36 per cent of Nigerian children attend Early Childhood Education (ECE).
Some 23 million Nigerian children have received the seasonal malaria chemoprevention to reduce severe malaria.
“In many cases, they are incarcerated with adults and therefore exposed to a high risk of violence.”
UNICEF noted that from 2009, more than 8,000 girls and boys have been recruited and used as child soldiers in different roles by armed groups.
“I was embittered with the situation, and I began to search for the younger ones to teach and reorientate them, letting them know that dialogue is better than violence.”
The commission says it uses childbirth registration for population projection in between censuses.
