Mr Bankole said the final decision at the workers’ parliament, which would hold on June 27, would determine the scope of the intended strike.
The state workers are asking the governor to pay their arrears of N30,000 minimum wage, pensions, gratuities to retirees, and other benefits.
Nigerian workers have faced torrid experiences as the economy continue to worsen, falling twice into recession.
The junior minister explained that the FG will not remove subsidy until it had engaged with stakeholders.
“We shall be engaging the NLC as sub-national leaders and with a view to ensure that the outcome of our engagement will also be fed into the national discourse.”
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) on Friday said it will hold a nationwide protest against the planned removal of fuel subsidy on January 27, 2022.
“If the minimum wage is brought under the discretion of the state governors, they may not pay their workers or pay less.”
The Kaduna State Government insists it could not be blackmailed by organised labour saying it took its action based on prevailing economic realities.
