The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the death of one person in Friday’s flood incident in Ondo town, Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State
He, therefore, called for urgent support to the affected farmers.
He noted that the flood destroyed 6,583 houses while 38,814 persons were affected.
The lawmaker expressed optimism that the collaboration would improve legislative support to address key issues affecting NiMet.
NiMet predicted morning thunderstorms with rain over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Kogi, Niger, and Kwara States.
According to NiMet, thunderstorms are expected over parts of Kebbi, Adamawa, Taraba, Sokoto, Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, and Kaduna States later in the day.
The federal government has activated the National Emergency Operation Centre to coordinate responses.
