It said that debt to petrol suppliers constitute a financial burden that could affect sustainable fuel supply in the country.
“We don’t haggle with NNPC. We are very happy with the price, the set price,” the statement said.
He called for the restoration of 50 per cent fuel allocation from NNPC.
Mr Abolurin said the incident, also meant to vandalise the oil pipelines of the NNPC in Liberty Estate and its environs, was averted on Thursday.

The committee chair reiterated the resolve towards gaining more from the value chain, with the expectation of growing dividends up to 80 per cent that would go into the federation account.
“The oil thieves absconded, abandoning their truck and tools, upon sighting police officers who responded swiftly when notified,” he said.
“So I plead with the NLC not to turn the subsidy issue into a political one.”
