According to Mr Aregbesola, Nigerians bribing corrupt immigration officers are messing up President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war.
The Nigerian government says it has inaugurated “enhanced e-passport” to improve the passport application process for Nigerians at home and abroad.
“The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) is appealing to these applicants to come and collect their passports.”
Consul General of Nigeria in New York, Lot Egopija, has urged diasporan Nigerians to pick up their passport at the consulate.
The federal government says the rate at which Nigerian youths are renouncing their citizenship is alarming.
The Nigerian envoy added that he had been working to ensure smooth services for Nigerians and remove corruption in the passport processes.
“Nigerians should not be made to suffer before their rights are given to them,” the legislator said.
