There is no need to ask Nigerians to celebrate Democracy Day. They know their country’s democracy is a farce. Nigerians know they don’t have leaders.
Mr Tinubu said that June 12 was “about rule of law and vibrant judiciary that can be trusted to deliver justice and strengthen institutions.”
“Folks on the other side, enemies of democracy, whom we are up against, are not resting. To defeat them, we must do more!”
“What lessons has Nigeria’s democracy taught the rest of Africa, if not part of the world, is resilience, determination, courage and love in diversity.”
Mr Akinwale added, “The only antidote to this is to have a large percentage of the middle class sufficient to support democracy.”
