The National Identity Management Commission says it has begun ward-level registration and enrolment for the National Identification Number in Jigawa.
“We will be making faulty moves without accurate data and iron-clad, digital intervention structures.’’
The consulate general of Nigeria in New York says it is making arrangements to enrol Nigerians living in the U.S. for NIN as part of Isa Pantami’s push.
Pantami has commended Nigerians for complying with the directive to link their NIN to their SIM as the federal government extends the exercise to July 26.
Mr Billiaminu said 95 per cent of candidates for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) met the NIN requirement.
JAMB has extended UTME registration to June 15 for candidates whose registration is incomplete to visit special centres to finish the process.
JAMB may conduct a second 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination because of NIN challenges faced by some candidates.
Mr Pantami and his colleagues also concluded that they “shall use our men who are in the military to help us bring arms and ammunition into Kaduna.”
The party said it was worried that the much touted NIN registration might have been compromised to allow foreign invaders.
“It’s a requirement by law but many citizens ignore it.”
