Mr Abubakar-Sadiq noted that non-sensitive election materials had been received and distributed to the participating local government areas.
In a communique read by the party’s Head of Strategy and Planning, Dr Clement Iwegbuna, the NNPP resolved to picket INEC headquarters in Abuja soon.
The appointment followed the resignation of the former national chairman, Ajuji Ahmed.
The party noted that Nigeria was fighting a war against insecurity.
This was announced in an internal memo dated April 27, signed by the party’s national secretary, Dipo Olayoku.
Mr Shekarau reiterated his commitment to contributing to the APC’s growth in Kano.
“We can no longer afford to deny our members the opportunities to participate in elections in Nigeria,” he said.
The statement said Mr Kwankwaso’s defection was witnessed by key leaders of the party.
He expressed deep appreciation to Mr Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the state.
NNPP has cancelled its planned protest against the Independent National Electoral Commission to avoid it being hijacked by hoodlums and political rivals to instigate disorder.
