It is significant that APC didn’t even claim to have won the majority or plurality of the votes cast during the governorship election in Kano this year.
He stressed that “the glaringly lopsided judgment cannot stand the test of natural justice and fair play’’.
The judgement was delivered on Wednesday.
“This impunity cannot continue. We wish to say that no rent seeker can chase away a landlord in his own house.”
“The election of Sani-Hanga is hereby affirmed, and the petition is hereby dismissed,” the judge ruled.
The president’s aides recognised the fragility of his mandate and said they were disturbed by how badly appointing the ex-Kano governor could hurt his government now and later.
