Russia’s energy giant Gazprom announced that it had suspended natural gas supply to Europe through a pipeline running through Ukraine.
The Washington Post had reported the U.S. had learned of a plan by Ukrainian military from a EU intelligence service three months before the explosions in September 2022.
In September 2022, explosions severely damaged undersea pipelines built to carry natural gas from Russia to Europe.
The announcement came a day after the signing of a declaration on NATO-EU cooperation aimed at increasing cooperation between the institutions.
The European Union believes sabotage is likely the cause of leaks from the Nord Stream I and II gas pipelines.
