The Benin traditional council has issued a stern warning against the politicisation of market leadership, stating that “the concept of Iyaloja is alien to Benin culture”.
The two-week fasting/prayers commenced on September 15 and ended on September 28.
The Oba said that the palace faced financial hardship due to withheld funds.
The Oba offered prayers for national leaders, seeking peace, good health, wisdom, and steady progress throughout this festive period.
He described the governor as a true traditional son of the land.
Mr Ohuoba said the Ekasa performance was usually held at the Queen mother’s palace in Uselu.
