The governor said he saw the recommendation of the Olubadan-In-Council and had accepted it.
The deceased Olubadan will be sorely missed for his wisdom and strategic thinking,” he said.
Mr Tinubu mourned Olubadan and celebrated the monarch’s remarkable life of service to his people, state, and the nation.
Mr Lawal noted that the government was looking at the council as co-partners in the developmental endeavours of Mr Makinde’s administration.
“I urge you, on behalf of Olubadan, to do your best in fixing the problem of electricity in Nigeria,” he said.
The Olubadan had held a meeting with some members of his advisory council over land-grabbing cases by Mr Oladoja.
He said while Mr Makinde was not responsible for the succession problem, his intervention would enhance speedy succession processes to the thrones.
The governor added that it was his prayer that God would grant the Olubadan more years in good health and with more wisdom to lead his people.
The Olubadan is expected to soon inform the people of Ibadan of his choice for president in 2023 and urge them to vote in line.
He said traditional rulers should also prioritise promotion of culture and tradition.
