Mr Ohaa said the service’s firefighters extinguished the fire, which lasted over an hour.
The gas fire started due to water drilling borehole activities on May 23, which led to a gas leak and eventual fire outbreak.
The fire, suspected to have been caused by under-earth natural gas, was encountered during the drilling of a water borehole at Caritas University.
The intervention of the fire service prevented further damage as only one office room was affected by the fire.
He disclosed that firefighters from the state’s fire service put out the fire at about 10:30 p.m.
