Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation Fansan Yamma have raided a terrorists’ hideout and recovered heavy calibre weapons in Dogon Daji of Dandi LGA of Kebbi.
62 rustled livestock, two AK-47 rifles and a motorcycle were recovered in the operations.
The troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force have foiled a potential improvised explosive device attack.
Mr Osoba reiterated the MNJTF’s commitment to defeating terrorist elements in the Lake Chad Basin and safeguarding regional security.
This was announced in a statement by MNJTF spokesman Olaniyi Osoba on Thursday.
Though the autopsy reports were now released, the Nigerian Army had yet to release its investigation report to determine the culprits, said the cop’s widow.
“We learnt they were yet to return the arms and ammunition because the GOC 81 Division Lagos has not given them directive for that effect,” said Mr Hundeyin.
Two hundred and three jerricans (30 litres each) were confiscated out of which 148 were filled with petrol.
The army is pleading with Lagosians who reside and work around the burial site in Ikoyi not to panic on hearing the gunshot salute.
“The court has to rule on the matter before zone 2 can do anything.”
