Mr Disu said the operations were proactive measures by the command to significantly disrupt the activities of criminals operating along some notorious corridors in the FCT.
Mr Disu said the minister has directed the security agencies to set up a committee to effectively monitor the influx of “Almajirai”.
The committee had on Jan. 13 announced the ban on the activities of scavengers in the territory.
Ms Adeh said, “The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has successfully rescued a young woman from the clutches of a suspected armed robber and ritualist.’’
The CP said the arrest followed the launch of the “Operation Sweep” Joint Task Force, consisting of the police and other security agencies in the FCT.
The bus was found to be transporting 59 male children, aged between four and 12 years.
