The Ooni also appealed to citizens to rise above ethnic and religious divides, saying Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity.
Mr Ogunwusi said the celebration of the revered cultural event was held annually in the ancient city to celebrate the day of the first dawn.
”We should pray very well because things are very hard. We all know the state of the economy. It is a sensitive thing that needs prayer.”
“Whenever we celebrate the Olojo festival, all the prayers offered are speedily answered,” said the Ooni.
Mr Ogunwusi insisted that it was a period of fasting and prayer to appease God and seek blessings for our land.
