The federal government had, in September, begun emergency palliative repairs on a seven-kilometre stretch of the road within Lagos State
She said some portions of the newly asphalted road had been damaged due to accidents caused by reckless driving.
The federal government has assured that the ongoing construction of the first 47 kilometres of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will be ready by May 2025
The federal controller of works said that the closure would be full at some sections of the bridge and partial at other sections
The highway project will be completed in phases, with the first phase starting from Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, and moving to Lekki Phase 1.
Mrs Kesha said that the works ministry would not tolerate any vandalism on public infrastructure.
“Traffic leaving and entering Lagos through the long bridge will be narrowed to two lanes on both sides of the bridge.’
Ms Kesha advised motorists to use alternative routes.
Ms Kesha said the closure would be done on the Lagos Island-bound carriageway of the bridge.
The Adekunle section of the bridge has four ramps and the repairs of all the ramps are expected to be completed within five weeks.
