The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo state council, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde over the upward review of pensions in the state.
The PRO, however, appreciated the region’s governors for increasing funding for the payment of gratuities to pensioners in their respective states.
He said that many states in the zone last paid their pensioners’ gratuities between 2012 and 2014, describing it as criminal and unacceptable.
He advised the incoming government of President-elect Bola Tinubu to settle down and look at the modalities and visibility of removing subsidies.
