Messrs Aiyedatiwa and Adelami took the oath of office administered by the state’s chief judge, Olusegun Odunsola, at the Akure Stadium.
Mr Akeredolu died of prostate cancer at a German hospital.Â
He also declared that all the flags in the state should be flown at half-mast.
This comes less than a week after the assembly announced the suspension of the impeachment process against Mr Aiyedatiwa.
Mr Aiyedatiwa had secured an interim order from the Abuja Federal High Court, restraining the assembly from impeaching him.
Mr Akeredolu said instead his government was more committed to good governance, which would be aligned with Godly principles.
