An APC chieftain in Ondo, Olusola Oke, says he is confident of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s victory in the governorship race.
“I bear no grudge against anybody. Nobody has offended me. All you did during the primary was to demonstrate your democratic freedom,” said Mr Aiyedatiwa.
Speaking on opposition parties in the state, Mr Aiyedatiwa said the APC remained the party to beat in Ondo state.
Amidst protests over the conduct of the APC primary in Ondo, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was declared the winner early Monday morning.
“To avoid any legal or constitutional conundrum, we advise that the party makes accreditation of party members mandatory at the election venue,” said the aggrieved aspirants.
APC pleaded with political gladiators to show regard for the governorship aspirants and other stakeholders to avoid unnecessary friction.
The chairman of the state APC, Ade Adetimehin, on Tuesday, said the party was worried about how the aspirants have engaged in violence and name-calling.
The primary election to pick the party’s flag bearer is slated for April 25.
“We can’t continue to do the same thing and expect the same results.’’
