CBAAC’s director-general, Oluwabunmi Amao, made the call during the centre’s annual international conference held on Thursday in Lagos.
“African women should put a stop to these and ensure the values of African culture are being propagated on various social media platforms for posterity,” she said.
“This should be the essence of the forthcoming festival, meant to commemorate the 45th anniversary of FESTAC ’77.”
The commemoration of the 45th anniversary of FESTAC “77 is slated to be held from December 5 to December 11 in Abuja, by CBAAC, the organiser.
During CBAAC’s visit to his palace on Thursday, Oba Ewuare assured of his support for the festival.
“The arts and culture of the South African people is very dynamic and we consider it quite of immense importance to be fully incorporated in this programme.”
