Governor Yahaya Bello has urged Nigerians to promote peace, unity and good neighbourliness as Christians celebrate Christmas.
Three of the 21 local government areas of Kogi led the list of benefitting students.
Mr Bello explained the incident on the Lokoja-Abuja highway as a “mere” altercation between his security detail and some military personnel at a checkpoint.
“As it stands in Kogi today, there’s nothing like hierarchy or privilege when it comes to participation within the party.”
The governor described Ilebaye, a criminology graduate of Salem University, Lokoja, as a true trendsetter and Kogi’s pride.
He said the ongoing initiative was to connect rural communities with the national grid.
The governor explained that the increment became imperative given the current economic realities and the overall importance of the NYSC scheme.
The disagreement attracted the attention of the state government.
Mr Bello, while receiving the defectors, commended the SDP defectors for taking a “courageous step.”
