The Kogi government claimed security operatives arrested six suspects in connection with the assault on the lawmakers.
Mr Isah-Echocho pledged the lawmakers’ loyalty to the governor and his successor.
Mr Muhammed said the chairmen’s appointments were recognition of the critical role of local government.
“Furthermore, the operation led to the apprehension of some of the kidnappers, while those still at large are being trailed,” the statement said.
The approval was part of the outcome of the Executive Council meeting held at the Lugard House in Lokoja on Tuesday.
The Kogi governor made this comment during a courtesy visit to congratulate Mr Kashim Shettima on his election in the just concluded presidential polls.
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime has strengthened Nigeria’s democracy.
An aide to Yahaya Bello said he went to see the president to discuss issues of “governance and security”.
Trouble broke out after a young motorcyclist was allegedly killed by security operatives on January 22.
