The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has paid tributes to the deceased, describing her transition as the end of a remarkable era.
“We can not dignify the undignifyable (sic) with an official response,” a statement from Ooni’s palace said.
The Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday, remanded a 45-year-old man, Owolabi Oriyomi, over the alleged indecent assault of a four-year-old girl.
The Christian Association of Nigeria in Ile-Ife has called for religious tolerance, kicking against a curfew imposed by traditional worshipers in Ile-Ife.

The Ooni said synergy among security operatives was crucial to addressing the country’s insecurity.
Speaking through the Minister of Internal Affairs, Rauf Aregbesola, the president said all Nigerians must be part of the war to end insecurity.
“I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable prince,” Ms Ogunwusi said.
The traditional ruler asked traditionalists to educate their children to value traditional religion.
The activist said his comments during an Instagram Live appearance were a slip of the tongue that he could not have been bold enough to repeat before Enitan Ogunwusi.
