In the Niger Delta region, Mr Gabkwet said airstrikes were targeted at the nefarious activities of oil thieves.
Troops also apprehended three gunrunners and rescued nine kidnapped hostages.
Mr Danmadami said the troops had continued the war against oil theft and illegal refineries and other criminal activities through aggressive raids and clearance operations.
Mr Hassan said 699 suspects were arrested, 90 assorted illegal weapons and large calibre ammunition seized and 1,883 illegal oil refining sites dismantled.
The stolen products, which were mainly diesel, were stored in drums and gallons and hidden in different trailer parks in the state.
“When the illegal refiners are chased out from a particular area, they will relocate to another area.”
