Two large-scale illegal operations were dismantled on July 22 and 23 in the Biseni Community, Bayelsa, with over 450,000 liters of crude oil recovered.
An estimated 6.5 million litres of stolen crude oil and seven million litres of illegally refined automated gas oil were seized, said the navy.
The commander said the arrest demonstrated the Nigerian Navy’s resolve and commitment to reduce maritime-related crimes to the barest minimum.
Mr Bura said that Operation Delta Sanity was activated on January 10 to build on the gains recorded during Operation Dakatar da Barawo.
He said the team deployed drone surveillance for situational awareness.
The flag officer said the navy deactivated about 60 illegal refineries.
Mr Rogo said that the Navy would continue to facilitate a conducive environment for legitimate businesses.
The navy said the crew comprised one Ghanaian and 12 Nigerians on board the Ghanaian-owned and registered vessel, Motor Tanker (MT) SWEET MIRI.

Each storage tank has the capacity to hold about 30,000 litres of crude oil.
