The governor was quoted in a statement as saying that the operatives were carefully selected from the 17 local government areas of the state.
He said the attackers usually gained access to communities through Taraba, Bauchi, Kaduna and Nasarawa States.
The Plateau government is to recruit 2,000 youths into its security outfit, Operation Rainbow, as part of efforts to tackle insecurity in rural communities.
He explained that his government had trained over 600 personnel of the state’s security outfit.
“I want to categorically state here that this administration is committed to reinforcing the established state security outfit, known as ‘Operation Rainbow’.”
He alleged that the outfit had attacked some pastoralists in the state.
“We will not fail to raise red flags when your government decides to abandon governance.”
The task force would enforce compliance by the marketers on the approved pricing template for the products and ensure its availability, particularly during the yuletide.
