In the first phase of the initiative, Lagos residents enjoyed a 25% discount on a variety of food items such as rice, beans, garri, bread, eggs, tomatoes, pepper, tatashe, and onions.
Many were seen with umbrellas trooping into the market to buy the discounted food items.

“I’m happy that prices of beans, rice, tomatoes, pepper, onions, garri and others have been reduced by the government.’’
The government said rice, beans, garri, bread, eggs, tomatoes and pepper would be sold at 25 per cent discount to residents.
