Mr SonAllah explained that the reduction in road traffic crashes was achieved through enlightenment and advocacy programmes.
“The bus was designed to carry 14 passengers, but was loaded with 20 passengers,’’ he noted.
The FRSC boss added that five others were seriously injured in the crash involving one articulated vehicle and one commercial Galaxy Ford car around 7:05 p.m.
“Wrongful overtaking and use of expired tyres, among others, contributed over 75 per cent of road accidents,” an official said on Wednesday.
Mr Biu said the Corps had also deployed massive personnel to all strategic roads as part of the measures to achieve the target.
