Mr Sheriff Oborevwori polled 360,234 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Ovie Omo-Agege of the APC, who scored 240,229.
The priest urged politicians and their supporters to respect ‘sacred lines’ and campaign without hate.
The APC candidate said the rumour was the handiwork of the Delta PDP, and urged residents of the state to vote for him in the March 18 governorship election.
Mr Buhari said he knew what it felt like for a country to suffer from energy shortage.
The APC governorship candidate in Delta said this was made possible with the introduction of BVAS machines in the nation’s electoral system.
A spokesman for APC guber candidate Ovie Omo-Agege said “this is one tragedy too many, and our party is officially in mourning.”
“My appeal is that you support Tinubu as president, Omo-Agege as governor, our senator, members of the House of Representatives and the House of Assembly,” the politician said.
“It will take a miracle for him running on the platform of the APC to be able to win,” the commissioner stated.
“Together with the rest of the team, we shall show PDP the way out of Government House come May 29, 2023.”
Mr Osanebi is a ranking member of the Delta House of Assembly, representing Ndokwa East state constituency.
