The chairman presented four patrol vehicles, two buses, and an ambulance to the police, the local security and environmental team, and a primary health centre.
FRSC Corps Commander in Kogi said that the special patrol became imperative due to the recklessness of some motorists during festivities like Sallah.
FRSC said the operation was to achieve a five per cent reduction in road traffic death and injuries, the corps’ 2023 corporate strategic goal.
The FRSC said it recorded 609 crashes from January to November and attributed the major cause of the crashes to speeding, wrong overtaking and tyre burst.
