The organisation noted that Mr Onifade’s case was one of the many shocking atrocities committed by security agencies, particularly during the #EndSARS protests.
The case was adjourned until July 7, 2026.
MRA’s counsels urged the coroner to order LASUTH to produce the autopsy result and the DNA centre to submit the result of the test conducted in 2020.
The MRA said the hospital’s claim was ‘fundamentally inconsistent.’
The coroner issued the ultimatum on March 3 after the hospital failed to comply with an earlier order issued in November 2025
According to MRA, Mr Onifade was shot while covering the #EndSARS protests in October 2020.
President Buhari is on record saying that the #EndSARS protests were about removing him from office.
