Nigerians also consumed 17.13 million litres of diesel daily in October 2025.
Mr Bashir said the confiscated items included 36,835 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), hidden in 1,219 jerry cans and 24 drums of various sizes.
Mr Ahmed said the county’s PMS daily importation had dropped from 44.6 million litres in August 2024 to 14.7 million litres as of April 13.
The revenue growth was driven by higher petroleum product prices throughout most of 2024, despite a reported decline in sales volumes.

While most fuel stations were not dispensing fuel, others increased their prices to between N750 and N810 per litre as motorists struggled to buy the product.
They appealed to the federal government to resolve whatever the issues were.
