The motive behind the man’s killing was unclear, but it was gathered that he was involved in cult-related activities.
“Normalcy has been restored in the community and the commissioner of police has ordered the deployment of more police operatives in the community.”
The ban was announced in a statement issued by the police spokesman in the state, DSP Sani Kamilu.
The APC chairman was kidnapped by suspected gunmen while driving home in Imesi-Ekiti, in Gbonyin Local Council Area of Ekiti on Saturday.
He added that other suspects were arrested for ATM card swapping, armed robbery and thuggery.
“The oil thieves absconded, abandoning their truck and tools, upon sighting police officers who responded swiftly when notified,” he said.
“This move underscores the commitment of the IGP to hold officers accountable for their actions.”
“This is unpolice. I don’t think a normal human being can do this. To crush a man with a car? This is unbelievable.”
Mr Jalige said that investigations revealed that the two suspects had defrauded one of their victims with the sum N948,000, using his Fidelity Bank ATM card.
“Our village people went to a wedding ceremony in another village called Gboti, and the boat carried about 270 people, and almost 110 people were lost.”
