This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna by the NBTE executive secretary, Idris Bugaje.
The federal government recently announced a seven-year moratorium on the creation of new federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
The board stated that the cut-off points were determined by heads of tertiary institutions.
All appointments took immediate effect, said a statement by the presidency.
“It is shocking that these schools from the South-East have outrightly refused to honour the invitation of the National Assembly,” the lawmaker said.
Mr Abubakar said that COREN was ever ready to improve its performance in regulating engineering education and training of practitioners.
The president, in directing a complete review of the list of the members of the governing councils, acknowledges the feedback across the country.
The two organisations made the pledge at a technical meeting at the NBTE headquarters on Thursday in Kaduna.
“Our objective is clear – to ensure that our technical education curriculum aligns with the demands of the modern economy, embracing emerging technologies.”
The Board said this would help the students to better understand their interests and abilities, and also improve their decision-making process.
