Voting for Iran’s 14th presidential election started at 8:00 a.m. on Friday after President Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash in May.
“Everyone has come to bid farewell to the martyred president.’’
Messrs Raisi and Amirabdollahian and seven senior Iranian officials died in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, Pir Hossein Kolivand, disclosed this in a televised statement on Monday.
“One of the causes of this heartbreaking incident is the United States,” said the Iranian former minister.
Iranian security authorities accused him of passing secret information to British intelligence, to which Mr Alireza Akbari had denied.
Iran’s president Ebrahim Raisi is accusing “imperialist powers” of being behind the assassination.
