At least 600 people were killed, and over one million displaced across the country.
The UN estimated that 77,000 Cameroonian refugee men, women, and children are registered in Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Benue, Cross River, Enugu, and Taraba.
“Our schools and health facilities are overstretched due to the increasing number of refugees,’’ added the official.
According to the DG of SEMA in Cross River, the state does not have the resources to take care of all the returnees at once.
The SEMA boss said that Cross River is hosting 37,659 Cameroonian refugees in different camps.
