Mr Dickson urged Nigerians to reject the claim and focus on the party.
The politician further asked INEC to extend the deadline for primaries till July 2026.
Mr Gombe said the protest was meant to urge the electoral commission to follow due process.
The national chairman of ADC, David Mark, received Mr Kwankwaso along with supporters at his residence on Monday.
Mr Kwankwaso expressed his gratitude for the honour of leading the NNPP, describing his resignation from the party as a difficult decision.
The national leader of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has clarified that he has not rejected the All Progressives Congress, saying that he is cautious due to past experiences.
The New Nigeria Peoples Party says Governor Abba Yusuf does not need Rabiu Kwankwaso’s endorsement to join the APC or any other party of his choice.
“Under the circumstances, it’s apparent that the desire of the executive governor of Kano state to decamp to APC is reasonable and responsible,” the NPP statement said.
