The Yobe government on Wednesday said repentant Boko Haram members are assisting in counterinsurgency operations in the state.
So far over 80,000 insurgents have surrendered, with about 16,000 being combatants, according to data from the military.

Many Nigerians have been displaced from their homes due to attacks by the Boko Haram members, now repentant terrorists.
The Borno government said the “repentant” terrorists would not harm anyone because they were not forced to repent.
Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno has held a meeting with security agencies to discuss the fate of about 3,000 Boko Haram terrorists who have surrendered.
