The FRSC spokesperson said the accident occurred at about 12:15 p.m. in the Danmasara village on the Dutse-Kwanar Huguma road.
The personnel could not identify the registration numbers of the two vehicles as they were burnt beyond recognition.
A search at the residence of the suspect led to the recovery of a locally-made pistol and two rifles, he added.
The suspects confessed to participating in robbery operations along Gujungu-Miga Road, Kiyawa-Shuwarin Road, and Fanisau-Kano Road, all in Jigawa.
Some of the victims, who spoke with journalists, appealed to government at all levels for support.
The police had received a credible intelligence report before raiding the criminals’ hideout at Nisan Marke village, he said.
The father said he woke up to discover one of the rooms of his house had collapsed while his children slept in it.
