The survey showed that nearly half of the respondents described their living circumstances as bad, while the majority said they or family members went without basic necessities.
They told journalists on Sunday in Abuja that they had no option but to seek cheaper, often dangerous, means of commuting to and from work.
The residents said increased transportation fares, food prices, electricity bills, and proposed telecommunication tariff hikes posed a challenge.
Mr Abubakre also suggested putting price caps on essential medicines and healthcare services.
“From the day President Tinubu stepped into power, things have changed, and since then, it has been hunger and anger,” said Atunluse Initiative.
The lawmaker said the skyrocketing cost of housing, food, healthcare, and education had increased hardship.
