According to Amnesty International, 17 residents returning from Bokkos market were slaughtered around Chirang village, on Thursday.
Sati Shuwa, the chairman of Riyom LGA, decried the spate of attacks on rural communities in the locality.
“The suspects loaded the items in two trucks and heading to a yet-to-be identified destination.’’
On August 14, suspected gunmen killed a newly married couple, one Rwang Danladi, 37 and his wife, Sandra, 28.
Mr and Mrs Rwang Danladi were teachers at the BECO Comprehensive High School, Kwi, in Riyom LGA, Plateau state.
A community youth leader alleged that the killing was a reprisal attack following the killing of three Fulani youths in the community.
Plateau State NAPTIP commander noted that the Ta-hoss community in Riyom is particularly an endemic area for human trafficking minors.
One of the suspects specialises in vandalising electricity armoured cables, transformers and other facilities.
The police said investigations to unravel the cause and perpetrators of the attack have commenced.
