Mr Babafemi said a team of NDLEA officers, acting on credible intelligence, had arrested one of the kingpin’s couriers.
The NDLEA spokesman said large quantities of opioids, tramadol, Rohypnol and codeine-based syrup were concealed in body compartments of the vehicle.
Mr Danmalam listed the seized drugs to include cannabis sativa, cocaine, rohypnol, methamphetamine and heroine.
The NDLEA commander said 640 suspects, comprising 614 males and 26 females, were arrested within the period under review.
“A search of the luggage of the suspect led to the seizure of five cartons containing 50 bottles of codeine syrup and 300 tablets of Rohypnol.”
NDLEA says it seized 3,988.74kg of assorted drugs with a monetary value of N80 million and arrested over 100 people for drug trafficking in Abuja.
Of the 3,091.032kg of hard drugs seized between January and now, cannabis sativa accounted for the largest seizure.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said 4,082 bottles of codeine-based syrup were also recovered from a suspect, Joseph Usman.
Mr Babafemi said the drugs were seized at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Friday in Lagos.
The suspects comprised 500 males and nine females. 295 of them were counselled against drug abuse, while 27 others were sent to rehabilitation centres.
