Six men are facing trial over their involvement in the alleged coup plot to topple President Bola Tinubu’s government.
The case was adjourned until May 13 for continuation of the trial-within-trial.
Mr Okpozikbo said, “The money was fraudulently taken because some of the suspects we interrogated confessed to that.”
Mr Mamman was appointed minister in August 2019 and was sacked in September 2021.
The Federal High Court, Abuja Division, on Wednesday, made an order for final forfeiture of $13 million linked to Aisha Achimugu’s Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd.
Former aviation minister Stella Oduah and another person charged with N2.5 billion fraud entered a plea bargain in the Abuja High Court.
The federal government arraigned the duo before Justice Chizoba Oji on 12 counts of fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud.
In counts four and five, the FG accused Ms Oduah, as minister at the time, of dishonestly misappropriating the same sums earmarked for a contract awarded to 1-Sec Security Nigeria Ltd.
The judge subsequently adjourned the case until January 29, 2026 for continuation of hearing.
Under cross-examination by Matthew Burkaa (SAN), Mr Emefiele’s counsel, the witness told the court that he does not know the owner of the accounts.
