Each of the 1,997 vaccination teams consists of 6,000 personnel, including vaccinators, recorders, supervisors and influential community leaders.
Mr Edun noted that health now accounted for more than five per cent of the national budget, up from just over three per cent previously.
No fewer than 250,750 children have been immunised against human papillomavirus, polio, measles, rubella, and other tropical diseases.
The chief supervisor stated that more than 250 children were immunised on the first day.
