Mr Zhakom stated, “During the operation, which lasted between September 16 and 17, troops raided the hideout of a notorious gunrunner, Mohammed Sani.’’
The 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba, near Jos, has organised its Schedule Range Classification exercise to boost weapon handling among troops.
Mr Zhakom said that several types of arms and ammunition were equally recovered during the one-week raid.
”Troops are currently sustaining operations in the area to intercept and neutralise the fleeing terrorists,” he added.
OPSH is a special task force established to maintain peace and stability in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna States.
“I’m highly pleased to have over 1,000 personnel of various security outfits to participate in this fitness walk.’’
The commander said that the meeting was to address the latest security concerns in some parts of the state.
On August 14, suspected gunmen killed a newly married couple, one Rwang Danladi, 37 and his wife, Sandra, 28.
OPSH has the responsibility to maintain peace in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna States.
The commander further said that the committee consisted of traditional rulers from the various LGAs, stakeholders, and officers of OPSH.
