Data from Chinese customs on Monday, said that Russian oil imports increased 55 per cent year-on-year in May, to about 8.4 million tons.
“Everyone will lose from this scenario and sanctions will only enhance division and confrontation,’’ said the Chinese official.
“This decision today is not without costs here at home. Putin’s war is already hurting American families at the pump — and this will drive up costs further.”
