Mr Alia had, on Monday, inaugurated two commissions to probe the administration of Mr Ortom from 2015 to 2023.
The group said 2023 was a challenging one for the party.
According to him, the judgements bordered on several unpaid contracts as well as 34 months unpaid pensions.
“What we inherited was nothing to be proud of, but we will do what will make us all proud. I inherited over N359 billion in debt,” he said.
He promised to work closely with security agencies and the federal government to ensure the safety of the lives and property of Benue people.
“We have suffered for eight years. For me, I have forgiven him. He doesn’t need to go to Niger (Republic). He should stay here with us.”
He noted that the last eight years had been challenging but that the workers have kept the wheel of the state alive.
The Presidency has shown in this recent public statement that they have placed cows above human lives.
Mr Kula said that the committee was to collaborate with the state government transition committee to ensure a seamless handover of power.
The attack which started Monday evening was carried out by Fulani herdsmen, residents allege.
