According to him, the cashew value chain is among the crops being promoted by the ministry to enhance food security and promote economic growth.
The governor also assured that Kebbi would partner with the federal ministry to achieve national food security.
He said that the ministry’s goal included ensuring food security and driving down food inflation.
He said that the local production target is 2,000 tractors yearly to boost food production.
It will also create jobs for farmers, especially women and youths.
According to him, the exercise will ultimately combat world hunger and make wholesome food available for everyone.
”This will be part of the main agenda at the summit and the NCAFS meetings in November,” he said.
The AFAN chairman said that smallholder farmers contributed much to food production and food security in the country and should be empowered.
