“The law must be effective when it catches the lion, not only when it catches the rabbit. NNPC’s reputation is for fraud. NNPC is a house of thieves,” said Mr Oshiomhole.
The directive followed the organisations’ failure to appear during the committee’s hearing on Tuesday in Abuja.
The Senate said it would invoke its constitutional powers if the summoned officials failed to appear before the committee.
Mr Wadada said the investigation is aimed at ensuring that the government maximises its revenue from the stamp duty.
“This committee had not, at any time, said the N210 trillion in question, as far as the queries are concerned, was stolen or missing,” said the Senate committee.
“I’m more determined to ensure the realisation of the commission.’’
He said the committee sought detailed explanations on how funds received from SWV were expended.
